Kalitta Teams with Chip Foose and Mac Tools to Run Special Edition Top Fuel Dragster in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, (Oct. 21, 2013) – Chip Foose, world-renowned auto designer and TV personality, and Doug Kalitta, NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Top Fuel dragster ace, have one very cool thing in common: Their passion for fast, eye-stopping and jaw-dropping hot rods. This weekend, Oct. 25-27, at “The Strip” at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Foose, Kalitta, and Mac Tools will again team up to give auto racing fans a 10,000-horsepower compilation of style and speed via a special edition Foose-designed, Kalitta-driven dragster.

“I am very excited to have once again designed the graphics for the Mac Tools/Kalitta Motorsports Top Fuel dragster,” Foose, who also designed a dragster for Kalitta and Mac Tools most recently in 2007, said. “I have been a big fan of drag racing since I was a kid and being a part of the Mac Tools/Kalitta Motorsports team is very cool. Having my logo displayed on the car with names that I admire is an honor.”

“The dragster looks great,” Kalitta, a 49-year old resident of Ann Arbor, Mich. said. “Mac Tools and Chip work together very closely on a lot of projects, so we’re honored to have him be a part of our racing program. He’s an amazing guy and an amazing artist. He definitely would be proud to see our car in the winner’s circle, and it’s just a little extra motivation for me and the Mac Tools crew to try to do just that in Las Vegas.”

With only two events remaining in the 2013 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Kalitta, a 16-year NHRA Top Fuel veteran, is vying for his first world championship in the world’s quickest and fastest racing class. He enters the event in Las Vegas in second place in Mello Yello Top Fuel championship points, only 83 points behind the leader.
