KALITTA MOTORSPORTS TO HOST A KID AGAIN SPECIAL GUEST AT HOUSTON’S SPRINGNATIONALS

BAYTOWN, TX (April 22, 2022) — Continuing a tradition that started in 2021 Kalitta Motorsports will host a special guest this weekend at the NHRA SpringNationals at Houston Raceway Park. Through their ongoing partnership with A Kid Again, a nonprofit organization fostering hope, happiness and healing for children facing life-threatening conditions and their families, Kalitta Motorsports will welcome Greyson Moreida, age 10 from Houston, Texas, along with his father and grandfather on Saturday, April 23.

Greyson will spend Saturday at the races with Kalitta Motorsports drivers Doug Kalitta, J.R. Todd and Shawn Langdon as well as the rest of the three-team operation. He has courageously been battling Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a condition where his left ventricle did not develop normally. Three surgeries before he turned four and an additional surgery in 2019 to replace his neo aorta have helped keep his heart working but none of the procedures are a cure. As a patient at Texas Children’s, the top cardiac hospital, Greyson has received excellent care from his surgeon and cardiologist, Dr. McKenzie and Dr. Altman.

“I love cars and I have never been to a race before,” said Greyson before the trip to the track. “I am really excited to meet the race car drivers and get to see race cars in real life with my dad & grandpa!”

Kalitta Motorsports’ support has helped A Kid Again further their mission of giving families the opportunity to take a time out from illness by attending ongoing Adventures together at NHRA races while they work through significant medical situations. The organization is expanding into Texas for the first time so this weekend’s adventure is one of the first in the state. The multi-time world championship team will also be supporting A Kid Again through social media promotions and branding on all three race cars.

“We have enjoyed hosting families for A Kid Again and look forward to hosting Greyson and his family this weekend,” said Chad Head, Kalitta Motorsports general manager. “Being able to see the smiles and have the families meet out drivers, get into race cars and watch the races has been a real pleasure for everyone at Kalitta Motorsports. This program has been embraced by our team and our sponsors and we are thrilled to see the impact we have been a small part of making for A Kid Again across the country.”

With the goal of providing year-round fun-filled Adventures that allow children with life-threatening conditions and their families to feel like “a kid again,” the organization works to create a communal and interactive environment offering comprehensive resources to help families cope with the extended effects of living through difficult medical journeys.

Qualifying for the NHRA SpringNationals begins on Friday, April 22 and concludes Saturday, April 23. Final eliminations will begin on Sunday, April 24 at noon ET. The race will be broadcast on FS1.
