Quotables:

Alexis DeJoria, Driver

“We made it down the track three times out of four during qualifying at Gateway Motorsports Park this weekend, which was good, and I’m happy we qualified. Of course, I wish we could have qualified a little higher up in the field, but we’re in the show and that’s what matters. We face Jack Beckman in round one tomorrow and we’re hoping to come out victors and go rounds.”

Tommy DeLago, Crew Chief

“Our first day of qualifying this weekend was pretty decent. We were fairly conservative with that 4.07 run last night, but it still put us in the quick half of the field going into today’s two sessions. It was pretty warm during Q3 today so we tried to tune the car off of the 4.29 from Q1 and ended up running a 4.17. That run ended up being sixth quickest of the session, but the five cars in front of us went a heck of a lot faster, so it’s clear we left way too much on the table there. Before Q4, the clouds started coming in and the temperatures cooled off a bit, so it was time to stand on it and really see what we could get away with. We tuned it off of that 4.02 from Charlotte, but it was just a tickle too much and unfortunately, the car smoked the tires on that last run. It’s a bummer because we were going to be in the Top 8 with lane choice, but we fell to the No. 9 spot. Regardless, we’ll go out there tomorrow and give ‘em hell and hopefully it will be a successful day for Team Patrón.”
